The legislature didn't want to offer an incentive to those moving outside of the state, in hopes that we could keep more people like you here. Hope all is well for you in Indiana. We own a home that is for sale and not occupied in Michigan. It has been for sale for a year and we were just notified we lost our homestead status adn our taxes increase by one-third.
