Great work by Northlight Studios

Craig Caugh from Northlight Studios (www.northlight-studios.com) did a fantastic job photographing this amazing estate on the Betsie River.

Trail of gold

I figured this was our last shot of sunshine for the day.  We stopped to let the kids swim near the drop off.

Hot deal with a lake to cool off in

To be clear, I have not yet been out to this listing, and I’ve been fooled before.  But I noticed in on the MLS and if someone is looking for a “starter” getaway on a lake in Northwest Michigan, this bears consideration.

It’s an older mobile home (yeah, I know, not exciting so far) on an 80 foot lot on Lake Ann, which is a really nice lake that’s about 15 miles from Traverse City.  Price is just $150,000.

Nothing fancy, just a relatively inexpensive lakefront getaway.

Rotary Cookout in Beulah Tomorrow

The annual Benzie Sunrise Rotary Steak Cookout is tomorrow.  Steaks for dinner, lunch is awesome Chicago style hot dogs with all the trimmings and my wife’s favorite- Benzie Sunrise chicken wraps.  This is our big fundraiser for the year, with proceeds to benefit the youth of Benzie County.

We’ll be at the Beulah Trailhead building on the Betsie Valley Trail, so you can ride in/ride out, or just stop in while visiting the Beulah Art Fair.

Drive through service is available.  Dinner Tickets are $10 each.

See you there!

Platte River at Lake Michigan

If you look carefully you can see the south end of the towering bluffs that make up the Lake Michigan side of Sleeping Bear Dunes in the distance.
